What are the official methods of moisture content determination?

There are two primary machine learning methods used for determining moisture content - dielectric and capacitance measurement.

Dielectric Measurement

- Dielectric measurement uses a sensor to measure a material's dielectric constant, which is a measure of how well it can store electrical energy. - As the moisture content of a material increases, its dielectric constant also increases. - Therefore, by measuring the dielectric constant of a material, the moisture content can be determined.

Capacitance Measurement

- Capacitance measurement uses a sensor to measure the capacitance of a circuit. - Capacitance is a measure of the ability of a circuit to store electrical charge, which is affected by the dielectric material between the capacitor plates. - As the moisture content of a dielectric material increases, its capacitance will also increase due to its reduced ability to store electrical energy. - Capacitance is directly proportional to stored energy, thus the moisture content of a material can be validated by measuring its capacitance.
